So here we are, back in America!! For a year, I've lived in a bubble. With only chinese television and radio, I've had no idea what was going on back home, and I'll admit it was kinda nice. I didn't have to worry about the economy, or politics, or the price of gas. In fact, I was a little nervous coming back, mainly because I heard that high-waisted pants were making a comeback. But so far so good!
As we walked through the San Francisco airport, it felt really weird to NOT be stared at, and then when we arrived in Utah, I couldn't believe how pretty the mountains were. Did they look like that when we left?!? And the sky is so blue! And the air is so clean! And you can see so much without huge buildings standing in the way! And then we came to Maryland and I only have one thing to say about that: Chesecake factory! I'll take that over the cream puffs at Shih Lin night market any day!
I've noticed that I unintentionally ignore people. I'm just not used to being able to communicate with anyone. Every time I go into a store and the sales clerk says something to me, it takes me a minute to realize that it's ME they are talking to. It's the greatest thing to be able to have an actual conversation with someone on the street with absolutely no charades whatsoever!
I seriously think my blogs from now on are going to be so boring!

Yeahhhh! Welcome back! When you are back from eating all the cheesecake in Maryland call me so we can see you! Love, Kristen
Yea . . . you are back! The mountains are beautiful here, especially this year since things are still so green from all the rain. Knowing you, I am sure there will be lots of exciting things going on in your life to post to your blog, so keep them coming!
Isn't it amazing? The things you didn't notice or appreciate before, that seem new and different AND WONDERFUL now??? :) We miss you here. I always feel like we are missing someone when we get together now. Hope you are enjoying your new life. :)
Welcome back to good old America!!! You've had a great experience the past year and we've loved reading your blog. We just got back from England, and had a great trip! Hope to see you all when you get back to Utah.-- Aunt Mary
Hooray! We've missed you. Everyone cheered for Nate's service at the Class Reunion on Saturday night. When do we get to go play?
We miss you! Hope you enjoy driving, sidewalks, church down the road, the absence of an overwhelming chou dofu smell (or is that the sewer?)infiltrating your senses, free grocery bags, parking, monkey-free mountains, dry heat, and most of all. . . .FOOD! Sink your teeth into a big juicy Burger Supreme burger and forget all about that chicken rectum Nate made you ingest. Love, Lori
Stop trying to make us all jealous that you are eating cheesecake at the factory. Rude...
Anyways, I am actually really, really happy for you. Seattle has the cheesecake factory and I look forward to that someday.
We miss you guys tons and Liz still talks about Ashton all the time and I tear up when I drive by your house and think of those cold noodles.
